Good Works NOW has been committed with its founding parent, Nations Training Institute, to establish leadership training schools for pastors in developing countries. The need of the church in this hour globally is solid, biblically balanced, practical, and culturally sensitive training.

The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) has at its core teaching. Teaching is establishing a truth foundation that will help these emerging leaders to build strong and healthy churches.

David Shibley, founder and president of Global Advance, recently said in an article that of the estimated two million Christian leaders in the developing nations, only five percent have access to biblical training of any kind.

The School of Leadership Development is a four year school which is comprised of one hundred core lessons that helps the emerging leader understand his new found faith in Christ while equipping him or her to help their congregations grow spiritually.

The lessons which are written by a team of seasoned pastors and teachers are edited for cultural sensitivity and are then translated into the indigenous language where a school is started. After the manuscripts are translated, the lessons are then interpreted into the language of the local pastors. Below is an example of the lessons taught in two of the modules.

Year One- Module Two: The Christian Family

  1. God’s Purpose for the Family
  2. The Purpose of Marriage
  3. Guidelines for Husbands
  4. Guidelines for Wives
  5. Raising Healthy Children

Year Two- Module Five: Spiritual Leadership

  1. How God Sees a Leader
  2. Qualified to be God’s Leader
  3. Leading by Serving
  4. The Place of Honor in Leadership
  5. Team Leadership
  6. Dangers Leaders Face
  7. The Endurance of a Leader

The school is brought to a group of church leaders IN THEIR REGION without the need of them traveling to a city. They meet for one to two days four times a year to cover the material in the modules of training. The facilitator then presents the material by CD and gives the printed manuscripts to the participants. Coming together throughout the year enables the leaders to be encouraged and keeps them accountable in regards to their training.
