Doing Good Works While Sharing Good News

Mercy Ministries

One of the privileges GWN has is to serve mercy ministries around the world. In fact, the word NOW in Good Works NOW, stands for, “Need Opportunities Worldwide”. The job description for any follower of Christ is to “do good works” (Ephesians 2:10).

When we do good works and serve the needs of people as Christ has asked us to, they experience an encounter with God’s grace that opens their heart to the good news of Jesus Christ. Therefore, all that we endeavor to do with GWN is to combine truth with deeds of love, teaching with kindness, and good news with good works. This was the example of Jesus and the model demonstrated by His disciples.

GWN continues to be an organization that channels resources to those needing help worldwide. In the years that GWN (or its parent organization, Nations Training Institute) has been in existence, numerous projects have accompanied our primary task of training church leaders in the emerging nations. Such projects as drilling water wells, rice distribution, medical clinics, dental clinics, children’s programs, building projects, and the support of orphanages have all been a part of our mercy ministries.

One ongoing mercy ministry that GWN has supported is the Home of Blessing in Northern Thailand.

Sayan
Sayan and Siriporn Kusavadee saw the need many years ago to minister to the needs of young girls being sold into the prostitution trade of Bangkok. In response, they started the Home of Blessing by actually purchasing girls from the villages in order to save them. What began in their home with just a few girls, has now blossomed into two dormitories that house 120 girls.

Besides this powerful mercy ministry, Dr. Kusavadee desires to establish a training center for the village and rural pastors of Northern Thailand. GWN not only helps to resource the Home of Blessing so these young girls can be saved physically and spiritually, but we are partnering with the Kusavadees to bring much needed training to the pastors and church leaders of Thailand.
